# How to Delete a Chat in DoubleTick

Deleting old or unnecessary chats helps keep your DoubleTick inbox clean and organised.\
Follow this guide to learn how to remove chats quickly and safely.

Before you proceed with the steps, here’s a quick visual of the full delete process:

### **🧭 Step 1: Go to Your Chats Section**

Make sure you are on the **main Chats screen** of your DoubleTick dashboard.\
All active conversations appear in the left-hand chat list.

### **✔️ Step 2: Enable Selection Mode**

To begin deleting:

* Click the **tick icon** at the top of your chat list
* This activates selection mode and lets you mark chats for deletion

### **🗂️ Step 3: Select the Chat(s) You Want to Delete**

* Click on the chat(s) you wish to remove
* A checkbox will appear beside each selected chat
* Chats with a tick mark are selected for deletion

### **⋮ Step 4: Open Chat Options**

Once your chats are selected:

* Click the **three-dot menu (⋮)** at the top-right of the chat list
* This will open additional options

### **🗑️ Step 5: Choose “Delete Chat”**

From the dropdown menu:

* Select **Delete chat**

### **⚠️ Step 6: Confirm the Deletion**

You’ll see a confirmation message:

**“Are you sure you want to delete chats?”**

* Click the red **Delete** button to confirm
* Deleted chats cannot be recovered

### **🎉 Step 7: Chat Deleted Successfully**

* Selected chats will disappear from your list
* A confirmation message will appear in the bottom-right corner

Your DoubleTick chat inbox is now clean and updated.
