# How to Schedule Messages in DoubleTick

Missing a follow-up because you weren't online. Sending a message at the wrong hour. Forgetting to check in with a customer at the right time.

These are small things — but they cost you conversations.

**Scheduled Messages** lets you write your message now and choose exactly when it goes out. You stay on top of every conversation, even when you're not actively online.

1. **Open** any chat and **type** your message in the input box.
2. Click the **small arrow (▼)** next to the Send button — do not hit Send yet.
3. A **dropdown** appears with four quick options:

<table><thead><tr><th width="338">Option</th><th>When It Sends</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>1 hour later</strong></td><td>Exactly 1 hour from now</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Tomorrow 9:00 AM</strong></td><td>Next day at 9:00 AM</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Monday 9:00 AM</strong></td><td>Upcoming Monday at 9:00 AM</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Custom date &#x26; time</strong></td><td>Any date, time, and timezone you choose</td></tr></tbody></table>

4. **Select an option** — your message is scheduled.

A confirmation banner appears at the bottom of the chat showing the scheduled time. You'll also see a **Scheduled Messages counter** in the customer's details panel on the right.

If the quick options don't work for you:

1. Select **Custom date & time** from the dropdown.
2. Choose your **timezone** from the searchable dropdown.
3. Pick a **date** from the calendar.
4. Set the **time** using the analog clock — select the hour, then minutes, and toggle AM or PM.
5. Click it to confirm.

From there, you can manage any scheduled message:

**Edit the content** Click the **pencil icon** on the message card. Make your changes and hit the green checkmark to save — or click **Cancel** to exit without changes.

**Reschedule to a different time** Click the **three-dot menu (⋮)** and select **Reschedule message**. Pick a new date, time, or timezone and confirm.

**Send it immediately** Plans changed? Click the **three-dot menu (⋮)** and select **Send now** to deliver it right away.

**Delete it** Click the **three-dot menu (⋮)** and select **Delete message**. You'll be asked to confirm — nothing gets deleted by accident.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">**A Few Things to Keep in Mind**</mark>

* In **normal chats**, your message will only send if the chat window is active at the scheduled time.
* In **frictionless messaging**, the message sends regardless of the chat window state.
* There is no limit on how many messages you can schedule per chat.

***The right message. At the right time. Every time.***
