# Deleting Customers On DoubleTick

**Overview of Deletion**<br>

DoubleTick offers four methods to delete customer data, tailored to suit your needs:

1. Individual Contact Deletion
2. Multiple Selected Contacts Deletion
3. Cohort Deletion Using Filters
4. Complete Data Deletion

**Step-by-Step Guide**

**1. Individual Contact Deletion**

This method allows you to delete a single contact from your database.

a. Navigate to the Customers tab.

b. Locate and select the specific contact you want to delete.

c. Click on the Delete option.

**2.** **Deleting Multiple Selected Contacts**

You can delete several contacts at once for faster management.

a. Open the Customers tab.

b. Use the checkboxes to select the contacts you want to delete.\

c. Click on the Delete button.

**3. Deleting a Cohort of Customers Using Filters**

Filters help you target specific groups of contacts for deletion.

a. Access the Customers tab.

b. Apply filters (e.g., location, activity status, or last interaction).

c. Once the filtered list is generated, select the Delete Filtered option. \`

4\. **Delete All Customer Data**

This method permanently deletes all customer data and is limited to the account owner. It requires an OTP for security.

a. In the Customers tab, click on the Delete All button located in the top-right corner.

b. Enter the OTP sent to the owner’s registered phone number.

c. Upon successful validation, a confirmation message will appear.

d. You will also receive a confirmation email and a WhatsApp notification.

**Important Considerations**

a. Permissions for Deletion

* The first three methods require the account owner to grant permissions to team members.
* Permissions can be configured under the Custom Roles and Responsibilities section in the settings.

b. Irrecoverable Action

* Deleted data cannot be retrieved. Ensure you double-check before proceeding.

c. Security and Compliance

* The OTP validation for the Delete All feature ensures data deletion requests are secure and authorized.
