How to Disable Two-Step Verification for Your WhatsApp API Number

Step 1: Open Meta Business Suite

  1. Open Google Chrome (recommended).

  2. Log in with your Facebook credentials.


Step 2: Select the Correct Business Portfolio

  1. On the left-hand side, click the Business Portfolio dropdown.

  2. Select the Business Portfolio where your WhatsApp API number is currently onboarded.

Make sure you select the correct portfolio that contains the number you want to migrate.


Step 3: Open Business Settings

  1. On the right-hand side, click the gear icon (Settings).

  2. This will open Business Settings.

  3. If prompted, enter the authentication code.


Step 4: Navigate to WhatsApp Accounts

  1. In the left menu, go to Accounts.

  2. Click on WhatsApp Accounts.

  3. You will see all WhatsApp Business Accounts (WABAs) listed.


Step 5: Select the Correct WhatsApp Business Account

  1. Identify the WhatsApp Business Account that contains your API number.

  2. Click on that account.


Step 6: Open WhatsApp Manager

  1. Scroll down.

  2. Click on WhatsApp Manager.

  3. A new tab will open showing your API numbers.


Step 7: Open the API Number Settings

  1. Click on the API number or its Display Name.

  2. A panel will open with multiple tabs such as:

    • Insights

    • Profile

    • Certificate

    • Automation

    • Messaging Links

    • Two-Step Verification


Step 8: Turn Off Two-Step Verification

  1. Click on Two-Step Verification.

  2. Click Turn Off Two-Step Verification.

  3. You will see a message stating that instructions have been sent to your registered email.


Step 9: Confirm Through Email

  1. Open the registered email inbox.

  2. Look for an email related to WhatsApp Two-Step Verification.

  3. Click the link inside the email.

  4. Click Turn Off Two-Step Verification (green button).

Once completed, Two-Step Verification will be disabled.
