# How to bulk onboard numbers

Learn how to onboard multiple WhatsApp numbers at once using DoubleTick's Bulk Onboarding flow, from adding numbers to downloading the final report.

If you have multiple WhatsApp numbers to onboard, Bulk Onboarding lets you add them all at once instead of connecting each number individually. You can add multiple numbers together, verify each with an OTP, and download a report showing which numbers succeeded and which failed, along with the reason.

Make sure you've reviewed the [prerequisites for onboarding](/get-started-with-doubletick/prerequisites-for-onboarding.md) before you begin.

#### Before you start

Make sure you have:

* The **Business Portfolio** where you want to onboard the numbers.
* The **WABA (WhatsApp Business Account)** where you want to add the numbers.
* The **display name** and **phone number** for each number you want to onboard.
* Access to the phone numbers so you can receive the OTP through **SMS or call**.

#### Step-by-step guide to bulk onboarding

**Step 1: Log in to DoubleTick**\
Open DoubleTick and log in using your registered phone number. Enter the OTP you receive, and once you're logged in, go to **Settings**.

**Step 2: Open Manage Channels**\
From **Settings**, go to **Manage Channels**. On the top-right corner, click **Connect New Channels** — a pop-up will appear with two options, **Single Number** and **Bulk Onboarding**. Select **Bulk Onboarding**.

**Step 3: Select your Business Portfolio and WABA**\
In the **Business** dropdown, select the Business Portfolio under which you want to onboard the numbers, and in the **WABA** dropdown, select the WhatsApp Business Account where you want to onboard them. Check the available number slots before proceeding — for example, if the WABA has a limit of 25 numbers and 1 is already onboarded, you'll see 1 out of 25 in use, along with the remaining slots — and make sure you have enough slots for the numbers you want to add.

**Step 4: Select how you want to receive the OTP**\
Choose **SMS** or **Call** as the default OTP method for this batch — you can change the method later for a specific number if needed. Click **Continue**.

**Step 5: Add the numbers you want to onboard**\
In the **Paste Your Numbers** field, enter the display name and phone number for each number, separated by a comma, with one entry per line — for example:

```
ABC Store,+919876543210
XYZ Store,+919876543211
Demo Store,+919876543212
```

Make sure each **display name** is correct, each **phone number** includes the country code, and each entry is on its own line, then click **Continue**.

**Step 6: Review your numbers**\
DoubleTick shows a **Review and Start Onboarding** screen with each number's status — **Ready**, **Duplicate**, or **Invalid**. Fix any Duplicate or Invalid entries before continuing; a number is often marked invalid if the country code is missing, the number is incorrectly entered, or required information is missing.

**Step 7: Start the bulk onboarding process**\
Once your numbers are ready, click **Continue** to start onboarding. DoubleTick then processes the numbers one by one, triggering an OTP for each via your selected method.

**Step 8: Enter the OTPs**\
For each number, check the phone for the OTP, enter it in DoubleTick, and continue. Repeat until all numbers are verified — they'll then appear in your DoubleTick channel.

**Step 9: Download the onboarding report**\
Once bulk onboarding is complete, download the report, which is available as an Excel file. It shows the total numbers submitted, how many succeeded, how many failed, and the reason for each failure — useful for identifying and fixing numbers that didn't onboard.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Example:** if you bulk onboard 10 numbers and DoubleTick shows 8 Ready, 1 Duplicate, and 1 Invalid, go back and fix the Duplicate and Invalid entries first. Once all numbers are Ready, start onboarding, enter each OTP as it arrives, and download the report afterward to confirm the final status of every number.
{% endhint %}

#### Key takeaways

* Bulk Onboarding lets you add multiple WhatsApp numbers at once instead of onboarding them individually.
* You'll need the target Business Portfolio, WABA, and each number's display name and phone number ready before you start.
* Numbers are checked for **Ready**, **Duplicate**, or **Invalid** status — fix any issues before starting the onboarding process.
* Each number is verified with its own OTP, sent via your chosen method (SMS or call).
* Download the onboarding report afterward to confirm which numbers succeeded and troubleshoot any that failed.

#### FAQs

**How many numbers can I onboard at once with Bulk Onboarding?**\
This depends on the available slots in the selected WABA. Check the number limit and how many slots are already in use before adding your numbers.

**What format should I use to enter my numbers?**\
Enter the display name and phone number separated by a comma, with each number on its own line, and always include the country code — for example, `ABC Store,+919876543210`.

**What happens if a number shows as Invalid or Duplicate?**\
Go back and correct the entry before continuing. A number is usually marked invalid if the country code is missing or the format is incorrect, and duplicate if it's been entered more than once.

**Can I use a different OTP method for a specific number?**\
Yes. While you choose a default OTP method (SMS or call) for the batch, you can change it later for an individual number if required.

**How do I know which numbers succeeded and which failed?**\
Download the onboarding report after the process completes — it's an Excel file listing every number's status and, for any failures, the reason.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://learn.doubletick.io/get-started-with-doubletick/onboarding/how-to-bulk-onboard-numbers.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
