# How to onboard a phone number on Coexistence

Learn how to connect an existing WhatsApp Business number to DoubleTick using Coexistence (Embedded Signup), from logging in to confirming a successful connection.

DoubleTick allows businesses to onboard multiple WhatsApp Business numbers under the same account. If you already have an existing WhatsApp Business number and want to connect it to DoubleTick using the **Coexistence** method, this guide will walk you through the complete process step by step.

#### Prerequisites

Before starting, ensure the following:

* You have access to your DoubleTick account login credentials.
* The phone number you want to onboard is already active on the WhatsApp Business App.
* You have admin access to the correct Facebook account and Business Portfolio.

#### Step-by-Step Guide to Add an Additional Number on Coexistence

**Step 1: Log in to Your DoubleTick Account**\
Open your browser and go to the DoubleTick platform. Log in using your registered mobile number and enter the OTP sent to your phone. Once you're logged in, you'll be taken to the **Chat** section of your account.

**Step 2: Open the WhatsApp Number Management Section**\
From the Chat screen, move your cursor to the left side to open the navigation panel. Click **Settings**, then select **Manage Channels**. Here, you will be able to view all WhatsApp Business API numbers already onboarded in your DoubleTick account.

**Step 3: Add your number**\
On the **Manage Channels** screen, click Add Number in the top-right corner. A pop-up will appear.

**Step 4: Select Coexistence onboarding**\
Select **Add Number using Embedded Signup**, then choose Coexistence onboarding (Connect an existing WhatsApp Business number) and click Confirm and Proceed.

**Step 5: Log in to Facebook**\
Log in with the Facebook account you want to use for onboarding. If you need to use a different account, click Log in with another account. Once logged in, click Continue.

**Step 6: Select your Business Portfolio**\
Select the correct Business Portfolio and click Continue or Next.

**Step 7: Enter your phone number**\
Enter the phone number you want to onboard and click Next. From the dropdown, select Add a new WhatsApp number, check that the number is correct, and click Next.

**Step 8: Scan the QR code**\
A QR code will appear on your screen. Open the **WhatsApp Business App** on your phone, tap **Scan QR Code** when prompted, and scan the QR code shown on your desktop. This connects your WhatsApp Business account and starts importing your chat history from the last six months.

**Step 9: Confirm your details**\
Once the QR code is scanned, your **Business Account Name** will appear. Select the correct **Time Zone** and click **Next**.

**Step 10: Finish the setup**\
Click Confirm & Finish. The connection may take a few moments. Once the setup is complete, your number will appear as **Connected Successfully** in DoubleTick.

#### Tracking Your Chat History Sync (<mark style="color:$primary;">New</mark>)

Once your number shows as Connected Successfully, DoubleTick begins importing your existing chat history from WhatsApp in the background. You don't need to wait for this to finish before using your account, but if you'd like to check on its progress:

You'll see a "**Syncing old chats**" chip right on the channel row in your channel list — this clears automatically once the import is complete.

For more detail, go to Channel Settings → Channel Profile to view the current sync status ("Syncing previous chats" or "Previous chats synced"), the number of chats synced so far, and a completion timestamp once done.

From the same panel, you can also download a report of your synced chats. You have now successfully onboarded an additional phone number in your DoubleTick account using the **Coexistence (Embedded Signup)** method. This process is ideal for businesses that want to continue using their WhatsApp Business App while also integrating the same number into DoubleTick for API-based messaging and automation.
