# How to Create a Meta Developer App

Creating a **Meta Developer App** is an essential part of setting up your **DoubleTick WhatsApp Business API**.

This app acts as the **technical connection** between your WhatsApp Business Account and DoubleTick — helping us manage your number, send messages, and enable automations securely.

Don’t worry if you’re not technical — this guide explains each step clearly and simply.

✅ Access to your email or phone for OTP verification\
✅ Around 5–10 minutes of setup time

> 💡 **Important:** When Meta asks for a purpose while creating the app, select **“No use case.”**

### 🪄 Step 1: Get Started on Meta for Developers (First-Time Setup)

If this is your **first time visiting the Meta for Developers site**, you’ll need to complete a short one-time setup.\
If you already see **“My Apps”** in the top-right corner after logging in, you can skip this step.

1. Go to <https://developers.facebook.com>.
2. Log in using your **Facebook account**.
3. Click **Get Started** (top-right).
4. Follow the on-screen instructions:
   * Choose your role → select **Developer**.
   * Accept Meta’s terms and conditions.

1. Click **My Apps** in the top-right corner of the page.
2. Click **Create App.**

1. On the **Choose an app type** screen, select **Other.**
2. Click **Next.**

1. On the next screen (“What will you be using this app for?”), select **No use case.**
2. Click **Next.**

### 📝 Step 5: Fill in App Details

Now, enter your basic app information carefully:

* **App Name:** e.g., *DoubleTick App*
* **Contact Email:** Use an active email (Meta sends all important updates here)
* **Business Account:** Leave this blank unless you already have a Meta Business Portfolio and want to connect it

Once done:

* Click **Create App.**
* Complete the **security check (CAPTCHA)** if asked.
