How to Create a Meta Developer App
Creating a Meta Developer App is an essential part of setting up your DoubleTick WhatsApp Business API.
This app acts as the technical connection between your WhatsApp Business Account and DoubleTick — helping us manage your number, send messages, and enable automations securely.
Don’t worry if you’re not technical — this guide explains each step clearly and simply.
🧩 Before You Start
Here’s what you’ll need before you begin: ✅ A Facebook account you can log into ✅ Access to your email or phone for OTP verification ✅ Around 5–10 minutes of setup time
💡 Important: When Meta asks for a purpose while creating the app, select “No use case.”
🪄 Step 1: Get Started on Meta for Developers (First-Time Setup)
If this is your first time visiting the Meta for Developers site, you’ll need to complete a short one-time setup. If you already see “My Apps” in the top-right corner after logging in, you can skip this step.
Go to https://developers.facebook.com.
Log in using your Facebook account.
Click Get Started (top-right).
Follow the on-screen instructions:
Choose your role → select Developer.
Accept Meta’s terms and conditions.
Verify your email and/or phone number (you’ll receive an OTP).
If prompted, turn on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for extra security.
Once done, you’ll see your Developer Dashboard — this means you’re all set up! 🎉

🧭 Step 2: Start Creating Your App
Click My Apps in the top-right corner of the page.
Click Create App.

🧱 Step 3: Choose the Correct App Type
On the Choose an app type screen, select Other.
Click Next.
💡 This ensures your app is general-purpose and not restricted by pre-set configurations.
🎯 Step 4: Select “No Use Case”
On the next screen (“What will you be using this app for?”), select No use case.
Click Next.

⚠️ Important: Selecting “No use case” gives you maximum flexibility — it’s the correct option for DoubleTick integration.
📝 Step 5: Fill in App Details
Now, enter your basic app information carefully:
App Name: e.g., DoubleTick App
Contact Email: Use an active email (Meta sends all important updates here)
Business Account: Leave this blank unless you already have a Meta Business Portfolio and want to connect it
Once done:
Click Create App.
Complete the security check (CAPTCHA) if asked.
🎉 You’ll be redirected to your App Dashboard.

🔍 Step 6: Confirm Your App Is Ready
Once you reach the App Dashboard, check that everything looks correct.
You should see menu options on the left like:

App Review
Products
✅ That’s it — your app is successfully created! 🎊
You don’t need to add any products right now (like WhatsApp or permissions). The DoubleTick onboarding team will guide you on the next steps — such as connecting WhatsApp, assigning permissions, and switching your app mode.

When asked by your onboarding manager, share:
App ID → visible at the top of your App Dashboard
Any other integration details our team requests

❌ I don’t see “Get Started.”
You’re already registered as a Developer.

Go to Facebook Settings → Security & Login → Turn on 2FA.
🚫 Permission error when creating app.
Your developer setup wasn’t completed.
Log out, log back in, or try using a desktop browser.
