#### Before you start — prerequisites

Make sure you have the following ready before beginning verification:

* **Admin access** to the Meta Business Manager account you want to verify.
* A **registered business entity** (company, LLP, sole proprietorship, etc.) with legal documents.
* A **business email** (preferably matching your domain) and a business phone number.
* **Supporting documents** in clear PDF/JPEG format (legal name, address, phone).
* **Two-factor authentication (2FA)** enabled for the admin account (recommended).

#### Step-by-step: Meta business verification

**Step 1: Log in to Meta Business Manager**\
Open **business.facebook.com** on your desktop browser and log in using the Meta account that has admin access to the Business Manager you want to verify. Click the **Business Portfolio dropdown** at the top, select the **business portfolio** you want to verify, and then click the **gear icon (Business Settings)** to proceed.

<figure><img src="https://2303112206-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F53n17VnOICC1LtDqlENV%2Fuploads%2F9wyh4lkGZSAvwljBiyrz%2FUntitled%20design%20(41).gif?alt=media&#x26;token=77419837-8976-48fc-8ffb-f6f8290bbe38" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 2: Navigate to Security Center**\
Inside Business Settings, find **Security Center** from the left or top navigation bar. This is where Meta manages verification and other account security features.

<figure><img src="https://2303112206-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F53n17VnOICC1LtDqlENV%2Fuploads%2F0W2oorl5p1g28quye1Pg%2FUntitled%20design%20(42).gif?alt=media&#x26;token=16ca12ca-60f7-4b2e-ba95-dcc4804244f6" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 3: Start the verification process**\
In Security Center, locate the **Business Verification** section and click **Start Verification** (if visible).

{% hint style="info" %}
If you don't see "Start Verification," make sure your business info is filled in completely and that you have admin access. If it's still missing, verification might not be available yet for your account, or Meta may require you to first [create a Meta developer app](/meta-business-setup/meta-business-verification/how-to-create-a-meta-developer-app.md).
{% endhint %}

**Step 4: Enter your business details**\
Fill in the following information exactly as shown on your official documents: the **location of the organisation (country)**, **type of ownership**, **type of business**, **GST ID/MSME ID or VAT ID**, **legal business name** (no nicknames), **business address** (official registered address), **business phone number**, and **business website URL** (must be live and secure HTTPS). Review carefully — mismatches are the most common cause of rejection.

<figure><img src="https://2303112206-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F53n17VnOICC1LtDqlENV%2Fuploads%2FRD6NhSoMD62fdVvzPKrO%2FUntitled%20design%20(43).gif?alt=media&#x26;token=1a18a619-93a5-45be-a9f6-ada57a33ee9a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 5: Upload required documents**\
Meta may ask for one or more of the following: your **Certificate of Incorporation / Business License**, **Government Tax Registration / GST/VAT Certificate**, or a **utility bill or bank statement** showing the business name, address, and phone number, matching your GST/MSME certificate or other documents. Upload clear, readable scans, and make sure the name, address, and phone match exactly what you entered.

**Step 6: Review all the details and choose a verification method**\
Meta will ask how you want to confirm your connection to the business — via **email verification** (business domain email), **phone verification** (via SMS or call), or sometimes **domain verification** (if your website domain is already verified). Enter the verification code sent to the method you choose.

**Step 7: Submit and wait for review**\
Submit the verification request. Meta will review it — usually **1–5 business days**, sometimes longer depending on workload and region. You can monitor verification status inside Business Manager's Security Center.

#### After submission: what to expect

* Meta may **approve** your verification and show a verified status within 24 to 48 hours.
* If your application is **rejected**, Meta normally shows the reason so you can correct and resubmit.
* Verifying boosts access to WhatsApp API features, ad capabilities, and helps with account stability. Learn more about [why verification matters](/meta-business-setup/meta-business-verification/why-meta-business-verification-matters.md).

#### Tips to avoid verification rejection

* Make sure **all business details match** your legal documents letter-for-letter.
* Use a **business domain email** (not Gmail/Yahoo).
* Upload **clear, high-quality document scans**.
* Review Meta's evidence requirements if you're asked for additional files.

#### Final summary

Completing Meta business verification:

* Confirms your business's identity.
* Unlocks advanced advertising and WhatsApp Business API features.
* Improves account stability and trust.
* Reduces the risk of interruptions during campaigns.

Verification is part of scaling your presence on Meta's platforms — do it early to avoid delays later.

#### Key takeaways

* Have your legal documents, business email, and admin access ready before you start.
* Business details must match your official documents letter-for-letter to avoid rejection.
* Verification is done through Business Settings → Security Center → Business Verification.
* Review typically takes 1–5 business days, but mismatches can cause delays or rejection.

#### FAQs

**How long does Meta business verification take?**\
Usually 1–5 business days, though it can take longer depending on Meta's workload and your region.

**Why was my verification rejected?**\
The most common reason is a mismatch between the details you entered and your official documents — double-check legal name, address, and phone number.

**Can I use a personal email for verification?**\
It's best to use a business domain email rather than a personal Gmail or Yahoo address, as this improves your chances of approval.

**What if "Start Verification" doesn't appear?**\
Make sure your business info is complete and you have admin access. If it's still missing, you may need to create a Meta developer app first.

**Does verification affect my WhatsApp API access?**\
Yes — without a verified Business Manager, your WhatsApp numbers may not be approved and API access can be restricted.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://learn.doubletick.io/meta-business-setup/meta-business-verification/how-to-verify-your-meta-business.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
