# How to Connect your Instagram Account

DoubleTick now supports Instagram as a Conversation Channel. By connecting your Instagram account, you can receive and respond to Instagram messages directly from your DoubleTick inbox, without switching between apps.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">**Before You Begin**</mark>

Make sure you have one of the following before starting:

* An Instagram Business account
* An Instagram Professional (Creator) account

A personal Instagram account cannot be connected to DoubleTick.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">**How to Connect Your Instagram Account**</mark>

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">**Step 1: Open Settings**</mark>

Hover over the left-hand navigation panel to expand it. Click on Settings.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">**Step 2: Go to Manage Channels**</mark>

Inside Settings, locate the Manage Channels section and click on it. This section displays all the channels and API numbers currently connected to your DoubleTick account.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">**Step 3: Click on Connect New Channels**</mark>

On the right-hand side of the Manage Channels screen, you will see a button labeled Connect New Channels. Click on it.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">**Step 4: Select Instagram**</mark>

A pop-up will appear asking you what type of channel you want to connect. You will see two options:

* Add a WhatsApp API or WhatsApp Business number
* Connect an Instagram Business or Creator account

Select Instagram.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">**Step 5: Log In to Your Instagram Account**</mark>

A new window will open prompting you to log in to your Instagram account. Enter your Instagram username (or email address) and password.

You may be asked whether you want to save your login information in the browser. This is optional and based on your preference.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">**Step 6: Grant the Required Permissions**</mark>

After logging in, Instagram will ask you to allow DoubleTick access to your messages. You will see the following:

* A toggle for Allow access to messages.&#x20;
* A toggle button for profile access and media access.&#x20;

Once both toggles are turned on, click Allow.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">**Step 7: Wait for the Connection to Process**</mark>

After clicking Allow, the connection will take a few moments to process. Once complete, your Instagram account will appear in the Manage Channels section with a Connected status.
