Why This Extension Was Built

Earlier, embedding DoubleTick inside Zoho CRM required a Zoho Enterprise plan, making it inaccessible for most teams.

The Chrome Extension removes this limitation. It works across all Zoho CRM plans and brings DoubleTick directly into your browser as a lightweight popup while you work inside Zoho.

How to Install

Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store:

  1. Log in once using Firebase authentication

  2. Open Zoho CRM & Refresh

  3. The DoubleTick button will appear automatically


How It Works

Once the extension is installed and the Default Chat Preference is configured by the admin, the process becomes completely seamless.

Step-by-Step Flow

  1. Open any Lead record inside Zoho CRM

  2. Click the DoubleTick icon in the bottom-left corner

  3. DoubleTick opens in a popup on the same screen

What Happens Automatically

  • A chat is instantly created using the lead’s phone number

  • No need to copy or paste anything

  • The WhatsApp number is automatically selected based on your team’s setup


Where to Configure This Setting

You can configure the Default Chat Preference directly inside DoubleTick:

  1. Open DoubleTick

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Navigate to Integrations

  4. Open Zoho CRM Integration

  5. Select your Default Chat Preference

Option 1 — Agent’s Primary WhatsApp API Number

(Your Primary WhatsApp API Number)

  • Each agent sends messages using their own primary number set in DoubleTick

  • Conversations remain agent-specific

Option 2 — Lead Owner / Admin’s API Number

(Lead Owner’s API Number)

  • All chats are initiated using the Zoho account owner’s primary WhatsApp number (configured in DoubleTick)

  • Typically, the Zoho Admin / CEO is already present in DoubleTick

How the Number is Applied During Chat

When an agent clicks the DoubleTick icon on a lead:

  • If Agent’s Primary Number is selected → chat opens from the agent’s Primary API number

  • If Lead Owner’s Number is selected → chat opens from the admin/owner’s Primary API number

This ensures:

  • No confusion about which number is being used

  • Consistent communication across the team
