# How to Create an Authentication Template Using Your Meta (FBM) Account

Authentication templates are used to send **secure WhatsApp messages** such as OTPs, verification codes, and login confirmations. These messages are essential for protecting user accounts and must follow Meta’s security rules.

This guide explains **how DoubleTick customers can create an authentication template using their Facebook Business Manager (FBM) account**, step by step.

***

### What Is an Authentication Template?

An **authentication template** is a WhatsApp message template meant only for **verification purposes**, such as:

* Sending OTPs
* Login or account verification
* Password reset confirmations

These templates:

* Are reviewed and approved by Meta
* Cannot contain promotions or marketing messages
* Include a verification code (OTP) with a validity period

***

### When Should You Use This Method?

You should use this method if:

* You want to create the template directly from Meta
* You are comfortable accessing Facebook Business Manager
* You want to use Meta’s pre-approved authentication templates
* You need more control over OTP delivery settings

Once approved, the template will automatically be available inside your DoubleTick account.
