How to Use Custom Contact Fields
Learn to create and manage custom contact fields on DoubleTick. Create, capture, edit and delete specific customer data with text, date, number, or list fields.
Custom contact fields allow you to create tailored attributes to store specific customer data, enhancing your ability to personalize interactions and better understand your clientele.
These fields serve as customizable data points, enabling efficient organization and better understanding of individual preferences and needs.

How to Create Custom Contact Fields?
To perform this action via API, please visit this link
Navigate to the settings menu and select "Custom Contact Fields."

To add a new field, click on the "Add Field" button

Enter Field Name and choose Field Type

There are four types of field types available:
This field type allows you to capture textual information, such as names, addresses, or descriptions.
E.g. Customer Email

Date fields are used to record specific dates or date ranges. They are ideal for capturing information like birthdates, appointment dates, or renewal dates.
E.g. Customer Birthdate

Number fields are designed to store numerical values, such as quantities, monetary amounts, or numerical identifiers.
E.g. Contact Number, Quantity

List fields enable you to create predefined options or choices to select from. This type of field is useful for categorizing data or providing standardized selections, such as status options.
E.g. Status (list down multiple status)
To Add a status, enter Item name and clcik on "Add Item" button ![]()

Repeat the same process to add multiple Status (Field Values)
Edit
To Edit a value clcik on the edit button
, a "Edit list item" pop up will appear. Modify the value and click on Done.

Delete
Click on the delete icon
to delete a field value
Reposition
This action allows you to customize the layout of fields according to your preference. To reposition a field, simply click on the icon
and drag it to the desired location. 👇
Click on "Save Field" button, to save the Custom Field

You can create additional custom fields with varying types based on your specific needs. 👇

Edit Custom Field
To edit a custom contact field, click on the three dots next to the field you want to modify, then select "Edit." Make the necessary changes and click "Save Field" to confirm the updates.

Delete Custom Contact
To delete a custom contact field,
Click on the three dots next to the contact field you want to delete.
Select the "Delete" option.
A pop-up confirmation will appear.
Click on the "Delete" button to confirm. The item will then be permanently deleted.
