Authentication templates are used to send secure WhatsApp messages such as OTPs, verification codes, and login confirmations. These messages are essential for protecting user accounts and must follow Meta’s security rules.

This guide explains how DoubleTick customers can create an authentication template using their Facebook Business Manager (FBM) account, step by step.

What Is an Authentication Template?

An authentication template is a WhatsApp message template meant only for verification purposes, such as:

These templates:

  • Are reviewed and approved by Meta

  • Cannot contain promotions or marketing messages

  • Include a verification code (OTP) with a validity period
