How to Migrate a Phone Number from Co-existence (CoEx) to Co-existence (CoEx) on DoubleTick

Who is this guide for?

This article is for you if:

• Your WhatsApp Business phone number is already connected to another BSP / API provider

• The number is currently working in Co-existence mode

• You now want to move the same number to DoubleTick, again in Co-existence mode

Overview of the Full Process (In Simple Words)

The migration happens in 3 main parts:

1. Resetting the number using Change Phone Number in WhatsApp Business App

2. Onboarding the number on DoubleTick using Embedded Signup

3. Scanning QR code to transfer chat history and complete the connection

Let’s go step by step 👇

PART 1: Change Phone Number in WhatsApp Business App (Very Important)

⚠️ Why is this step mandatory? Because the number is already connected to another BSP. This step helps WhatsApp “release” the number so it can be connected to DoubleTick.

Step 1.1: Open WhatsApp Business App

• Open WhatsApp Business App on your mobile phone

Step 1.2: Go to Change Phone Number

• Open Settings

• Click on Account

• Click on Change Phone Number

Step 1.3: Replace Old Number with a Fresh Number

Here:

• Old number = Your current WhatsApp Business number

• New number = A fresh number

  • Not active on WhatsApp

  • Not active on WhatsApp Business App

➡️ Enter OTP ➡️ Complete the Change Phone Number process

Step 1.4: Repeat the Same Process (Fresh → Original Number)

Now repeat exactly the same steps again:

• Go to Change Phone Number

• This time:

  • Old number = Fresh number

  • New number = Your original WhatsApp Business number

➡️ Verify OTP ➡️ Complete the process

✅ Once this is done, Part 1 is complete

PART 2: Login to DoubleTick and Start Embedded Signup

Case 1: First-time onboarding on DoubleTick

• Login using phone number + OTP

• Click Get Started

Case 2: Adding this as an additional number

• Login using phone number + OTP

• Go to Dashboard directly

Step 2.1: Go to Manage WABA

• Open Settings

• Click on Manage WABA

• On the right side, click Add Number

Step 2.2: Choose “Add Number using Embedded Signup”

• Click on Add Number using Embedded Signup

Step 2.3: Choose Onboarding Method

You will see two options:

• Connect existing WhatsApp Business number

• Cloud API onboarding

👉 Select Connect your existing WhatsApp Business number 👉 Click Confirm and Proceed

PART 3: Facebook Login & Business Portfolio Selection

Step 3.1: Facebook Login

• If already logged in → it will auto-detect

• Otherwise → login to your Facebook account

Click Continue → then Get Started

Step 3.2: Select Business Portfolio

• Choose the verified business portfolio

• Business name, website, country will auto-fill

• Click Next

Step 3.3: Select Setup Method Again

You will again be asked:

• Cloud API

• Connect existing WhatsApp Business App

👉 Select Connect existing WhatsApp Business App 👉 Click Next

Step 3.4: Enter Phone Number & Verify

• Enter your WhatsApp Business phone number

• A 5-digit verification code will be sent

• Enter the code to verify

Step 3.5: Select Time Zone

• Select your correct time zone

• Click Next

Step 3.6: Review Access Permissions

• Review all access requests from DoubleTick

• Click Continue

PART 4: Chat Backup & Final Connection (Very Important)

Step 4.1: Scan QR Code

• You will see a QR code on the screen

• Click Scan QR Code

A pop-up will appear with options:

• Share chats

• Don’t share chats

• Cancel

👉 Select Share chats

⚠️ This allows last 6 months of chat history to be transferred to DoubleTick.

Step 4.2: Scan from WhatsApp Business App

• You will receive a message in WhatsApp Business App from Facebook Business

• Open the message

• Click Scan QR Code

• Scan the QR code shown on the screen

Step 4.3: Migration Complete

• Chat backup will start

• You will see confirmation:

  • Connected with ValueFirst Digital Private Limited (DoubleTick)

Click OK

🎉 CoEx to CoEx migration is now complete!

Final Summary

✔ Number successfully migrated ✔ WhatsApp Business App retained ✔ Chat history transferred (last 6 months) ✔ Number now connected to DoubleTick in Co-existence mode
