This article explains what to do if Meta rejects your WhatsApp Display Name and how you can appeal the rejection if you believe your Display Name follows Meta’s Display name guidelines.

When Should You Appeal a Display Name Rejection?

If you have submitted a Display Name and Meta has rejected it, you can still appeal only if:

  • You believe the Display Name fully follows Meta’s Display Name Guidelines

  • Your business name is clearly visible on your website

  • Your branding is consistent across external sources

👉 If the Display Name genuinely violates guidelines (generic, promotional, misleading, etc.), appealing may not help.

Step 1: Log in to Your DoubleTick Account

  1. Open a web browser (preferably Google Chrome)

  2. Go to web.doubletick.io

  3. Log in using your registered mobile number

  4. Enter the OTP received

  5. Once logged in, you will land on the Chat section

Step 2: Navigate to Manage WABA

  1. Hover your cursor on the left side of the screen → the navigation panel opens

  2. Click on Settings

  3. Inside Settings, click on Manage WABA

You will now see a list of all WhatsApp API numbers connected to your DoubleTick account.

Step 3: Select the API Number With the Rejected Display Name

  1. Identify the API number for which the Display Name was rejected

  2. Click on the three dots (⋮) next to that API number

  3. Click on Update WABA Profile

Step 4: Click “Edit on Meta”

  1. A right-hand side panel will open

  2. Locate:

    • WABA Number Display Name (Visible on WhatsApp)

  3. Click on the Edit on Meta button

This will redirect you to a new browser tab.

Step 5: Open the Rejected Display Name in WhatsApp Manager

You will now be redirected to WhatsApp Manager inside Facebook Business Manager.

  1. Select the API number for which the Display Name was rejected

  2. The Insights page opens by default

  3. Click on the Profile tab

  4. You will now see the Rejected Display Name with its status

Step 6: Re-enter the Same Display Name to Appeal

  1. Click on the Edit button below the rejected Display Name

  2. Enter the same Display Name again (the exact name that was rejected earlier)

📌 Once Meta detects that the same Display Name is being submitted again, additional fields will appear for appeal.

Step 7: Fill in the Appeal Details

You will now be asked to provide the following:

1. Reason for Request

Explain clearly that:

  • the Display Name aligns with Meta’s Display Name Guidelines

  • your business identity is legitimate and verifiable

Example:

The display name submitted earlier aligns with Meta’s Display Name guidelines. For verification, we are sharing our official website and Facebook page where the business name is clearly mentioned.

2. Business Website URL

Enter the official website of your business where:

  • the business name is clearly visible

  • branding matches the Display Name

3. Facebook Page URL

Enter the official Facebook Page URL of the business.

Step 8: Submit the Appeal

  1. Review all the details entered

  2. Click on Submit

  3. The appeal request is now sent to Meta for review

What Happens After You Submit the Appeal?

  • Meta will re-review the Display Name

  • Approval or rejection is entirely Meta’s decision

  • Review timelines are typically 24–48 hours

  • Status will change to:

    • Approved

    • Rejected

    • Under Review

Important Notes for DoubleTick Customers

  • Appealing does not guarantee approval

  • Ensure your:

    • website is live and accessible

    • business name is consistent everywhere

    • Display Name is not generic or promotional

  • DoubleTick cannot override Meta’s decision but can guide you through the process
